Tips for new users • BROWSE existing Epodia materials. This will give you a sense of the types of items available and the ways they are represented to the community. • ENSURE that materials you post are classroom-tested and ready for distribution. Work in progress is of substantially less value to the community than work you have refined through your own teaching. • TAKE time to polish your materials before posting: refine formatting, check facts, clarify illustrations, and correct errors. This will dramatically increase the value of your work to others. • POST your syllabus. A syllabus is an excellent point of entry to the Epodia network. If you have a syllabus that is complete, including bibliographic references, go ahead and post it. During the posting process you have an opportunity to describe the syllabus (using the "abstract" field) and deliver a message to other instructors (using the "author's message" field). • ADD supplements, when appropriate. Teaching notes, Powerpoint presentations, and/or Excel worksheets that accompany cases or articles can enhance the value of your teaching materials. Think through which supplements you use with your teaching materials and make sure you provide them to your peers. • IDENTIFY salient keywords for your item. Epodia's search procedure works best when the keywords associated with an item are specific and relevant. You may provide up to 12 keywords, so think of a large set of words or phrases that clearly describe the topics and issues addressed by your item.
